  • Overview

Once a very tectonically active planet, Hypartis is relatively unique as all of its cities are carved into the sheer mountain cliffs and gorges that make up the landmass. From orbit it appears to be barely populated, with only a handful of man-made structures breaching the tops of the mountain ranges. Deep scans reveal the truth, however; Hypartis could essentially be considered a single giant hive, with the only borders between population centres being the small oceans that break up the jagged faces of the continents. To outsiders, Hypartians refer to all parts of the planet as “Hypartis”, though sufficient time spent on the planet will reveal that there are discrete sections that could be equated to hive cities. Though there’s no official capital, the planet’s Starport sits atop one of the larger population centres, known to the locals as “Underport”.

  • Visual Description

Hypartis is predominantly made up of massive mountain ranges and plunging gorges, with small oceans lapping between the larger landmasses. The dark rock of the world is capped by two frozen poles, with a very narrow band of a temperate zone around the equator, where some of the mountain peaks appear to have been levelled out to allow for limited farming attempts.
